Halfmoon Happenings

Halfmoon Bay

The Halfmoon Bay Elementary student council is raising funds for a “buddy bench” for the schoolyard, and they are also having a book sale. If you have books you would like to donate, this is a wonderful opportunity to support them. Books can be dropped off at the school Feb. 26 to March 4.

The book sale will be open to parents and the community after school Monday and Tuesday, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. and Wednesday 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

When you drop off your books, take advantage of Fresh to You fruits and vegetables. Halfmoon Bay Community School is offering this pre-made bundle of fruits and veggies for $20. Order forms are available with Barbara Holt at the school office and are to be in by March 4.

Plans for the special 50th annual Halfmoon Bay Country Fair are starting, and a committee is now being formed. Anyone wanting to join in the fun of setting up, please contact [email protected]. The Fair date is set for July 9 and 10.

Drop in and play pickleball on Wednesdays, 7 p.m. at the Halfmoon Bay Community School gym, Northwood Road. Racquets and balls are provided. Cost is $3 per session. For more information email [email protected] or [email protected]

To have your say at the bay, contact me before 5 p.m. Monday at [email protected] or 604-885-5034.
