The next meeting of the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary Halfmoon Bay branch will be held at the Botanical Gardens, Monday, Dec. 14, at a later start time of 10:30 a.m. As this is their Christmas luncheon, it will not be open to the public and only those who have already prepaid can attend. Please bring food bank donations, non-perishable or monetary. Also note, there will be no meeting of the Halfmoon Bay branch of the Auxiliary in January. They will reconvene the second Monday in February.
The 5k and 2k Holiday Hustle is this Sunday, Dec. 13. This musical and Christmas-themed event is a fundraiser for the Chatelech running team, as well as a collection point for donations to the Elves Club Christmas hampers. There will be great draw prizes, home-baked goodies, and music – bring the whole family (flat rate family entry fee). Pickleball, is now closed for the Christmas break. After a very successful late summer and fall, the Pickleballers will be at it again on Wednesday, Jan. 6 and each Wednesday thereafter until March 9. Pickleballers will return to the courts on Wednesday, March 30 after spring break and play until May 25.
The second annual Breakfast with Santa at the HMB Community School was an outstanding success with over 230 people attending. Proceeds and dry goods collected will benefit HMB Childcare and our local food bank. Many thanks from them to Halfmoon Bay Community Association and all the volunteers who made this possible.
