Halfmoon Happenings

Halfmoon Bay

Residents of Halfmoon Bay are invited to come along this Saturday, Dec. 5, as Halfmoon Bay Community Association brings the second annual Breakfast with Santa, 9:30 a.m. to noon at the HMB Community School, 8086 Northwood Rd. Benefits go to the Halfmoon Bay Childcare Centre and the local Food Bank.

Last year’s event was a tremendous family experience, a festive and delicious way for everyone to make this worthwhile event part of Christmas memories while helping others.

Tickets will be available at the door (adults $6, kids $4, families $20, includes a photo with Santa). Come and enjoy a delicious pancake and sausage breakfast. Please bring a non-perishable item for the Food Bank. For more information, contact Wendy at 604-885-9153.

Thank you to all Marine Search and Rescue (MSAR) sponsors, auction donors and attendees of the Beer and Burger fundraiser held at the Lighthouse Pub in November. With over 285 tickets purchased, 110 silent auction items, 50/50 draws and four raffle offers, you helped raise over $13,000. The funds will be used to help fulfill MSAR’s mission of saving lives on the water. The members of Station 12 (Halfmoon Bay/Porpoise Bay) are grateful for your support. For more information about what they do, see rcmsar12.org

Thanks go to the volunteers and all those who supported the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary’s bake and craft sale. They were able to raise $4,000 for the hospital.

The last pickleball session before Christmas is this Wednesday at the Halfmoon Bay Community School gym at 7 p.m.

To have your say at the bay, contact me before 5 p.m. Monday at [email protected] or 604-885-5034.
