The Halfmoon Bay Information and Referral Centre is hosting a HMB Business Trade Show on Saturday, Sept. 12. Businesses are invited to promote their goods and services at this inaugural event. Let’s show our community what a diverse and exciting business environment we have! It will be held in the Halfmoon Bay School gym, with set up at 8 a.m. and doors open to the public at 9:30 a.m. Display your wares, provide samples, put up posters and promote your business. Tables are $10 to offset the cost of the school rental. For more info or to reserve your table, contact [email protected]
There are two events that you may want to mark your calendar for October.
Oct. 4 is the Halfmoon Bay Fire Department 10k Run Until It Burns. This is a fundraiser for the HMB Volunteer Fire Department, and runs from the Welcome Woods fire hall to the hall by the General Store. See www.sunshinecoastathletics.org/hmb10k
Oct. 17 and 18 is Apple Festival weekend. If you have apples to share with the big copper kettle, they will be put to good use. Also on the want list is cured maple firewood that goes under the big kettle. Bring apples and firewood to the back door of Dolphin Physio and Fitness, #102 - 5711 Mermaid St., Sechelt. Or call Katie at 604-885-2969 to arrange for pickup.
Applefest weekend also has the Boogie, Brats and Beer dance at Coopers Green, on Saturday. The live band will be Playback. Tickets will be on sale soon at HMB General Store and Welcome Woods Market.
