The Halfmoon Bay Country Fair was a huge community success and was officially opened by Garry Nohr, SCRD chair and director for Area B, Halfmoon Bay. The atmosphere was electric. The park was decorated with banners, there were pony rides, and Pan the stilt-walker. Bingo was played, cakes were won at the cakewalk, and there were fun games for everyone. There was even a petting zoo.
Terry Karleen, president of the Welcome Beach Community Association, thanks all the groups that participated, the musicians who played centre stage, the volunteers who showed up in record numbers, the many sponsors who helped make the event possible and everyone who turned up. We are hoping for an even more successful fair next year, the 50th year.
