Halfmoon Happenings

Halfmoon Bay

It was a very big weekend at the Halfmoon Bay Fair, with many local charities, HMB school, HMB child-care, non-profit groups and associations helping to make it all come together as a great community event. A big thank you to all concerned for a terrific job at Coopers Green this past weekend.

A big thank you also goes out to everyone who supported the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary pancake breakfast. The winner of the amazing quilt was Sanya Hunt of Davis Bay.

A list of all winning numbers for the WBCA Paper Bag draw is posted on the Welcome Beach Community Association (WBCA) Facebook page.

The Halfmoon Bay Information and Referral Centre is hosting a HMB Business Trade Show on Saturday Sept. 12. Businesses are invited to promote their goods and services at this inaugural event.

Let’s show our community what a diverse and exciting business environment we have. It will be held in the Halfmoon Bay School gym, set up at 8 a.m. and doors will open to the public at 9:30 a.m. Please be prepared to display your wares, provide samples, put up posters and promote your business. Tables are $10 to offset the cost of the school rental. For more information or to reserve a table, contact Wendy at [email protected]

Due to circumstances beyond their control, the Halfmoon Bay Reading Centre will be on hiatus for the summer. They will be up and running again in September, so watch for opening times and dates.

WBCA will be holding its third annual golf tournament on Sept. 19. Contact Mike at [email protected]

To have your say at the bay, contact me before 5 p.m. Monday at t[email protected] or 604-885-5034.
