Thanks to all who organized and participated in the Roberts Creek Craft Fair this past weekend.

This Friday, Dec. 4, enjoy dinner and live music at the Roberts Creek Legion, with David J. Taylor on piano and guitar. Following is Brain Freeze Trivia with quizmasters Teresa and Sean Eckford at 7:45 p.m.  

The book sale for the Roberts Creek Library is this Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. And great news – because of the wonderful support from the community, the volunteers have decided to expand the library’s opening hours to Sundays, beginning Jan. 10, from noon to 3 p.m. 

This Saturday, Dec. 5, is the 13th annual Sun Haven Winter Faire, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sun Haven School, a magical family event. Sun Haven is at Margaret Road and Beach Avenue at Camp Douglas.

On Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Legion, enjoy tunes from The Bird Frightening Hay Dolls (hillbilly soul), Chopper and the Saucer-men (space surf), and Mr. and Ms. Jeevious, 9 p.m.

Hollylujah! It’s the Coast Fiddler’s Christmas concert with Bad to the Bow, on Sunday Dec. 6 at 3 p.m. at the Roberts Creek Hall. Chelsea Sleep is the dynamic and devoted musical director, and it will be a wonderful afternoon of seasonal music. Tickets at MELOmania, Gaia’s Fair Trade and Sechelt Visitors Centre. Everyone welcome.

Roberts Creek Branch of Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary will hold their AGM with installation of the executive Tuesday, Dec. 8, at Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club. Meeting starts at 11 a.m. followed by lunch.

The Roberts Creek Elementary School PAC is promoting local shopping this Christmas with their buy-local card. Cards are $10 to purchase and entitle you to 10 per cent off at participating stores on the Sunshine Coast. Or pick up a beautiful poinsettia or gorgeous fresh wreath. Contact Kim at 778-881-5467.

Santa will be coming down Roberts Creek Road around noon on Sunday, Dec. 13. Meet him at Roberts Creek Library where he will be having photos taken with children between noon and 1:30 p.m., and with pets between 1:30 and 2 p.m. There will be a collection box for the food bank; please bring something to donate if you can.

The 17th annual Christ-mas Dinner at Roberts Creek Hall will be happening again this year on Friday, Dec. 25. This is a free, non-denominational, community event sponsored by the Roberts Creek Community Association and everyone is welcome. Watch the Heart of the Creek get lit up soon. The Roberts Creek Scout Group will put up their tree with all its sparkling lights and décor. This will be the eighth annual tree; stop by and say hello if you are walking by.
