The official community plan committee held elections early last week and congratulations are in order for the new board members: Mike Allegretti, Scott Avery, Norma Brow, John Ennis, Elaine Futterman, Linda Hoechstetter, Mark Lebbell, Roger Richmond, Jeff Rosnau, Dianne Sanford and Sheila Wilson. The next meeting will be Jan. 19 when an election for chairperson, vice-chair and secretary will take place.

The Coast String Fiddlers present the annual ceilidh, A Celtic Christmas, this Sunday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. at the Creek Hall. Tickets are $10 for adults, or $8.00 for seniors and children, available at Hallmark in Gibsons and Medichair in Sechelt.

This Sunday, the 6th Roberts Creek Scout Group will be decorating a tree in the "Heart of the Creek." Drop by around 2:30 p.m. to see what is happening. They will also have popcorn for sale and all proceeds will go to the group for activities. For more information call 604-886-7140.

Black Cat Cinema presents a double feature of the visionary words and thoughts of futurist Barbara Marx Hubbard: Humanity Ascending: Our Story and Visions of a New Humanity.

Our Story is a movie that spans the history of the evolutionary journey of our species from the big bang to current times, where we find ourselves precariously standing at the edge of conscious evolution or self-destruction. Visions of a New Humanity touches the transcendent yearnings of life itself within us.

Next Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 11 and 12 from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, check out the Global Ethnic Bazaar at the Hall. This event is for those who import from and support "undeveloped" countries, and also to help support the local importers who depend on vending. Santa will be visiting the Creekside Salon behind the Gumboot Restaurant on Sunday, Dec. 12. Be sure to bring a donation the Food Bank.
