Christmas is just around the corner. This year, members of the Gibsons and District volunteer fire department are beginning to celebrate their 75th anniversary by hosting the 16th annual Festival of Lights at Tim Horton's and Wendy's.
Plans are already afoot to make this year's display bigger and better yet. Don't be surprised to see a fire truck pulled by eight tiny reindeer.
As in past years, businesses, clubs, societies or families can help spread holiday cheer in Gibsons by sponsoring a tree or decoration and the proceeds will support the volunteer fire department. Any funds raised will be used to furnish Gibsons' new training facility and for specialized training like live fire and Hazmat. Look for fire fighters around Gibsons and be part of the festivities.
