Get hungry for books

Spring break is a time of celebration, going from winter into the new life of spring. A week off from school offers opportunities for fun and learning outside the classroom walls.

Spring break is a time of celebration, going from winter into the new life of spring. A week off from school offers opportunities for fun and learning outside the classroom walls.

In the spirit of that celebration, the Sechelt Public Library will once again host a free and delicious Books for Breakfast event on Wednesday, March 21, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Children ages 7 to 11 are invited to take part.

Children will be served a light breakfast, and will have the opportunity to explore the library and its new book arrivals, take part in a scavenger hunt, play board games, win prizes and play computer games.

The Books for Breakfast event will introduce children to the new "for kids only" computer that is equipped with Net Nanny, computer games, research sites and Tumble Books.

Pre-registration is required, so please drop in to the library and fill out a parental permission registration form.

The most important thing you can do with your children during spring break is to interact with them and provide learning opportunities.
