First day back for FLAIR on the Coast

For those of you looking for a cancer support group, FLAIR on the Coast is reopening Saturday, Sept. 11, 10 a.m. to noon at the Rockwood Centre in Sechelt. This first day back will be an open forum with shared stories.

For those of you looking for a cancer support group, FLAIR on the Coast is reopening Saturday, Sept. 11, 10 a.m. to noon at the Rockwood Centre in Sechelt. This first day back will be an open forum with shared stories. Anyone receiving cancer treatment, has been through cancer or is a caregiver in the Pender Harbour/Egmont area is invited. The Saturday Madeira Market hosted by the Pender Harbour Community Club invites musicians to come and play a set or two any Saturday now through to the end of October at the Courtyard. Tent, microphone, and amplification ready and waiting just bring your tip jar!

This Saturday, Sept. 11, the lovely folk singer Geri from Wilson Creek will begin the live music. Vendors will have beautifully crafted treasures for sale. Wen’s Baked Delights, Judy’s Handcrafted Gifts, Peachtree Creations, Beads and Blooms will all be there. Visit. Come shop! Relax and treat yourself to a wonderful lunch from Tony’s Triple BBB’s. Huge thanks to Tony for taking such good care of the gardens and courtyard, making it perfect for our markets on his dime and time.

Live music this week at the Clubhouse features the return of two favourite entertainers. Patricia Burnett performs at the Friday Dinner Show from 5 to 8 p.m. and Poppa Greg, Sunday 2 to 5 p.m. $5 cover Sunday. Reserve a table now for a very good time!

FibreWorks Studio and Gallery, at The Yurts, open Wednesday to Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., has so much for both artists and admirers to enjoy. A Beautiful Mess, the newest exhibition, opens Sept. 18 and runs to Oct. 31. There are many workshops to participate in and fascinating videos of artists at work. Great news! Harbour Gallery, now open Saturdays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout September, will also be part of this year’s Art Crawl, Oct. 22 to 24.
