Once again the Sunshine Coast Conservation Asso-ciation (SCCA) invites the community to their annual Celebration of Conser-vation on Saturday, Nov. 13 at the Seniors Centre in Sechelt.

This is a chance for people to enjoy delicious finger food, dancing to the sounds of Sweet Cascadia and socializing with other like-minded folks. The entry fee is by donation to this gala event, which is the main fundraiser for the SCCA. This year's silent auction items include nights and dinners at West Coast Wilderness Lodge and Ruby Lake Resort, as well as gifts from the Painted Boat. Bidding will be especially hot on the solar water heater. Who wouldn't like to lessen their carbon footprint while reducing their heating bill? A Canadian Solar Industries qualified installer will be on hand to advise which of the units on display will best meet bidders' needs. Many other fabulous services, art and items will tempt bidders in the silent auction.

SCCA board chair Jason Herz will keep folks on their toes with the live auction of special items, and executive director Dan Bouman will highlight what the SCCA has been doing this past year to protect the environment through its program of advocacy, research and public education.
