Everyday Eden is a gardeners delight

The Sunshine Coast is home to its fair share of gardeners and writers.

The Sunshine Coast is home to its fair share of gardeners and writers. Robert Creek residents Christina Symons and John Gillespie have combined both these passions to create their first book, Everyday Eden: 100+ Fun, Green Garden Projects for the Whole Family to Enjoy ($29.95, Harbour Publishing). The book includes over 100 stylish and useful ideas that will nourish your garden, beautify your home and help you celebrate special occasions.

Symons and Gillespie launch Everyday Eden on Wednesday, May 11, at the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend the launch, enjoy some refreshments, meet the authors and see some beautiful sample projects from Everyday Eden. Books will be available for sale at the event from Talewind Books. The authors will also be making special appearances for book signings at Bluewaters Books in Madeira Park Plaza on Saturday, May 21, from 1 to 3 p.m., and at The Swallow's Nest in Gibsons on Sunday, May 22, from noon to 2 p.m.

With step-by-step instructions and full-colour photography for projects ranging from how to create gorgeous succulent sculptures and living willow fences to fresh ways to arrange flowers and plan stylish garden soirées, Everyday Eden demonstrates ways to maximize your enjoyment of outdoor spaces - from balcony-sized urban green spaces to rural acreages.
