Lighthouse Learning Network (LLN) is a network of interactive learning centres, offering a broad range of learning opportunities for adults young and old.

LLN is committed to a vision of a life-long learning community, in collaboration with its partners.

What you will learn at the program: basic computer skills, work setting communication, phone conversation practice, document usage such as work and bank account applications, cultural boundaries in a work environment, what employers expect from you, employee rights and resume preparation.

Additional courses include first aid, FoodSafe and a seminar on employee rights from a human resources specialist.

The courses are free and take place Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. starting Jan. 14 at the Community Resource Centre, 5520 Trail Ave. in Sechelt.

The first aid and FoodSafe courses will be pre-registered and held at a different time. LLN offers extra language support for participants.

The other learning opportunities will be offered during the drop-ins each Thursday morning according to the interests of the members of the group present. LLN expects to move through the topics during a six- to eight-week time.
