The Backeddy Resort and Marina at Egmont is truly a jewel on the Sunshine Coast. I had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant Saturday night in the company of the miracle workers of Thank Dog I Am Out Rescue Society, who were staying at the resort for their AGM. We thoroughly enjoyed the best of the best: hospitality, food, service, vistas, and music: the fantastic Joe Stanton. Thanks to all.

This weekend at the Clubhouse, Peter Van the Piano Man goes solo at the Friday Night dinner show 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, enjoy the return of the Steve Hinton Band from 2 to 5 p.m. Reserve now for a very good time. Cover $5 Sunday.

FibreWorks Studio and Gallery hosts the opening reception for Beautiful Mess, their latest exhibition, this Saturday, Sept. 25, from 2 to 4 p.m. at The Yurts. Artist talk via Facebook Live will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 2 with Linda Coe and Anni Hunt.

Harbour Gallery will be open this Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. then close for a break until the Art Crawl in October. Take in the amazing creations of our local artists in many mediums, sizes, and prices. Yes, you can buy one or more to take home.

The Madeira Market, Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., merrily carries on through the fall in the beautiful, freshly groomed Gardens. The very talented Rick Kobus, son of the late Ruth Kobus, entertains from 10 a.m. to noon followed by the lovely folksinger Geri. Come enjoy the music, shop and visit with the vendors of Beads & Blooms, Judy’s Handcrafted Gifts, Peachtree Creations, Rachels Rocks, Wendy’s Bakery and guest artisans.

The Pender Harbour Community Club will be hosting their Christmas Faire on Saturday, Nov. 20 at the Hall. Tables for artisans $25.

The legion will once again hold its Thanksgiving Turkey & Ham draw on Oct. 2. Seating is limited, proof of COVID vaccination and masks required. In lieu of the pie auction due to COVID regulations, baskets of non-perishable items are welcome.

Seniors Initiative activities continue as does the popular Thursday Night Bingo at the Pender Harbour Community Hall. Masks and proof of vaccination required. Contact me with your news at [email protected] for the Friday edition of the Coast Reporter.
