Councillors to help kick off Sechelt market’s 25th season

Farmers' and Artisans' Market

On Saturday, March 31 at 9 a.m., the Farmers' and Artisans' Market will open for its 25th year in Sechelt.

To mark the occasion, Sechelt council members will be in attendance and help with the event. Free hot chocolate and mini cupcakes will be served until noon, and there will be music and farm animals as well as a Guess the Number of Easter Eggs contest with two $50 prizes for the best guess and a random draw.

Visit the market for farm fresh produce, plants, baking, hot food and a wonderful variety of local artisan creations every Saturday until the end of September from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Cowrie Street in Sechelt near the Library.

The Sechelt market extends its gratitude to its sponsors for their continued support for the market and the BC Farmers Market Nutrition Coupon Program that helps those in need on the Coast. Last year the program brought $12,000 worth of coupons for distribution by the market’s Community Service partners in Sechelt.

Details about the Farmers Market Nutrition Coupon Program are available at the Market Information Booth. Sponsors this year are Holy Crap Cereals, Sunshine Coast Air, Sunshine Coast Tours, Hangar Climbing Lounge, Sechelt Fish Market and the District of Sechelt.
