Reconciliation
syiyaya

Sechelt Community Forest chairman Glen Bonderud presented former shíshálh Nation chief Garry Feschuk and supporters with a $30,000 cheque to kick off the fundraising for the syiyaya (friends and family) reconciliation movement. The plans include carving a totem pole, weaving four reconciliation blankets and hosting a number of educational workshops pertaining to reconciliation along with recording a documentary of this movement. “The Sechelt Community Forest Board had no hesitation in stepping forward to support this community-building movement,” Bonderud said.
