Come out to the fair

St. Bart's

Volunteers at historic St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church in Gibsons (celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2017) have been crafting their famous mincemeat annually for over 30 years.

This year, the team peeled, sliced and diced over 100 pounds of apples, added dried fruits, lemon zest and juice, spices and “warming beverages.”

The vats of mincemeat, regularly stirred with a specially-constructed paddle, have aged for almost three months and developed the deep rich flavours of winter.

Pick up a supply of Famous Mincemeat at the St. Bart’s Festive Food Fare on Saturday, Nov. 26 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Enjoy lunch at the bistro, and check out the food-themed collectibles, jams and preserves, home baking, silent auction, and the Gourmet Gift Basket raffle.

It’s a seasonal treat worth waiting for!
