Enterprising Moms Network (EMN) will launch its newest chapter on the Sunshine Coast on June 25.

Enterprising Moms Network (EMN) will launch its newest chapter on the Sunshine Coast on June 25.

The network, which helps women balance the challenges of being both mother and entrepreneur, already has three successful chapters located in White Rock, North Vancouver and Kelowna, with a sister network based in Seattle, Wash.

"The opening of this Sunshine Coast chapter reinforces how important it is for mothers to take control of their careers," said chapter director Dara Wyton. "We are thrilled to be able to provide mom entrepreneurs on the Sunshine Coast with the resources, advice and knowledge they need in order to better balance the demands of home-life with work-life."

The new chapter will launch with a meeting at No. 4, 292 Gower Gardens in Gibsons on June 25 from 7 to 9 p.m. with the opportunity for informal networking at 6:30 p.m.

The Sunshine Coast chapter will offer women who have started or are looking to start their own business a venue to share their knowledge and experiences with each other. They will also hear from professionals on topics ranging from trademark and franchising issues to public speaking.

The chapter's first speaker will be Margaret Page of Beyond the Page, who will discuss the importance of networking and how integral it is for women entrepreneurs today. She will share some tips on how to create strategic alliances and grow a business. The evening is free for guests who have never attended a chapter meeting.

"Enterprising Moms Network is a great place for women to connect with other women who, although like-minded, have a variety of experience, education and skills," said Wyton. "Our goal is to educate and empower women to take their ideas and run with them, creating a fulfilling career while enjoying the pleasures of family life."

Interested enterprising moms can sign up to learn more about the benefits of being a member by attending the first meeting, visiting www.enterprisingmomsnetwork.com or calling Wyton at 604-989-4000.
