On Saturday, bring the whole family to Dougall Park to enjoy an exciting day of fabulous entertainment, fun activities and delicious food.

This year's roster of top-notch children's performers include Juno award winner Charlotte Diamond, Jean-Pierre Makosso, Graham Walker and the Barn Cats, Sandy Buck of Rababoo Puppet Theatre, Gerardo the Magician, Driftwood Players Story Theatre and Steve Wright Creative Sound.

This is Diamond's third appearance at the Festival. She will be accompanied by Bob Wishinski on keyboards and her son, Matt Diamond, on electric guitar.

Between shows, enjoy vibrantly costumed stilt-walkers and clowns as they meander through the park, or take part in the bounce castle, pony rides, petting zoo or face painting. The festival runs from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Entry is by donation.

This fundraising event is hosted by Sunshine Coast Community Services Society (SCCSS) and raises money for their child development programs including Parent-Tot Drop-In, a popular family resource program; Bellies and Babies prenatal nutrition program; and Mother Goose, a language development program. The money raised provides the much-needed financial support for these programs, which help parents give their children the best start in life.

SCCSS is the leading umbrella organization on the Coast offering residents from Earl's Cove to Port Mellon a wide range of programs and services. Core program areas include child development, family and youth services, Together Against Violence and Community in Action. To learn more about SCCSS, see their website at www.sccss.ca.
