Can I still get help with taxes?

I know the tax season is done, but I haven’t had my taxes done.

I know the tax season is done, but I haven’t had my taxes done. Does the volunteer tax service still run?

You’re talking about the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP), and no you’re not too late! For those not familiar with the CVITP, it’s a free tax preparation service, run by some amazing local volunteers. The program itself falls under the Resource Centre umbrella, and its goal is to help people with modest incomes get their taxes filed at no cost. Many seniors use this service, but it is for people of any age who qualify. This tax season, the volunteers have prepared more than 1,000 tax returns! Give us a call at 604-885-4088 and we’ll connect you to one of the key volunteers available over the summer months.

Does the Resource Centre need volunteers?

If you’re looking for a way to help out in a meaningful way here on the Coast, consider volunteering your time with us. We are opportunists when it comes to volunteers; if you have skills you’d love to share, we are interested in finding ways of taking you up on those skills! Email me (Angie!) at the email address below with your interest, a description of what the type of skills you’d like to share with us, and I’d be happy to find a time to chat with you more.
