Saturday, March 19 saw the completion for 13 students of the Sunshine Coast Canadian Power and Sail, Boating Essentials Training Course at Roberts Creek Elementary School.
After four Saturdays of three hours duration, plus many hours of homework, the students graduated with a basic understanding of boating safety, navigation, charting, lines and ropes, anchoring, magnetic compass and digital charting. This is the course on which all future advanced level CPS training courses are built.
A special thanks to Keith Maxwell and Bill Foley of Sunshine Coast, Canadian Power and Sail Squadron for spearheading this program.
The graduates are looking forward to joining the legions of people who safely take to the waters of the Sunshine Coast. Congratulations to all.
