Treasures have been discovered at previous years’ Antiques and Collectibles Roadshows. This year, appraisals will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 13 at Sunnycrest Mall in Gibsons.

Valentine’s weekend is a great time to bring your treasures down to the Antiques and Collectibles Roadshow to have them appraised by experts.

The Sunshine Coast Museum’s annual fundraising event will take place at Sunnycrest Mall in Gibsons on Saturday, Feb. 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In past years, com-munity members have brought in amazing treasures to be assessed by appraisers, including century-old jewelry, bejeweled teapots and an original painting by Emily Carr. Any item that you can carry into the mall will be appraised for a fee of $15 for one item, $20 for two, $25 for three and a $30 flat fee per collection.

A collection is defined as items of a similar nature (think comic book or coin collections). There is a limit of three items per visit and you can visit as many times as you wish during the event.

There will also be a pop-up adopt an artifact exhibit that showcases a variety of museum artifacts that can be symbolically adopted to support the museum’s upcoming renovation project. It is also a good time to sign up or renew your museum membership.

Bring your sweetheart to the Antiques and Collectibles Roadshow and see what community treasures are unveiled.
