The qathet region is brimming with arts and culture as two openings begin this evening, Friday, March 1, 2024. As many film aficionados know the qathet International Film Festival begins tonight with an opening party and the feature film, The Old Oak, preceded by the short film, Cloud Striker, with guest speakers in attendance. All happening at the Patricia Theatre in Townsite beginning at 6 pm.
Across town in Westview on Marine Avenue, Townsite Actors Guild performers and crew are gearing up for opening night, tonight, Friday, March 1, at the Forest Bistro and Lounge. The live performance of Canadian play and comedy Gibson & Sons begins at 7 pm preceded by a carver style dinner.
Gibson & Sons will run March 1, 2, 8 and 9 at the Forest Bistro and Lounge. Tickets are available at Rocky Mountain Pizza on Marine Avenue.
The qathet international Film Festival runs March 1 to March 9, 2024. Drag queen Conni Smudge will perform at the closing party and the French-Canadian film, Solo, will be the last film of the festival, March 9.
