Kisses and Kicks: Kisses for stranger's bus ticket gift, kicks for aggressive delivery drivers

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of July 14!

  • Kisses and shooting stars to all the staff and dancers at Coast Academy of Dance. What a spectacular year!
  • Kisses to the cheery crossing guard at Gibsons Elementary. I always enjoy seeing you smile and wave on my way to work, and will miss you throughout the summer!
  • Kicks to the driver of the delivery vehicle who is so aggressive on the road and in the parking lots. Your for-profit business does not take priority over others’ safety!
  • Huge respect to our local RCMP officers who literally follow criminals through dog [poop] to keep us all safe. Your work and integrity to our community is very much appreciated!
  • Kicks to the man who insisted on returning an unpackaged toilet seat to the store. You were rude and unreasonable! You brought a young staff member to tears.
  • Kisses to the woman who got off the ferry June 22 at 5:30. I was the senior telling the very nice bus driver that I’d left home with no wallet & had not a penny. She touched my shoulder, gave me a bus ticket and was gone. Wasn’t even coming on the bus! Your kindness will be paid forward.
  • Kisses and kudos to Mayor Silas White for helping retrieve the contents of my wallet from a 200-metre debris field along Highway 101 last week. During a high traffic period! Note to self: Don’t leave wallet on trunk lid while fishing for keys.
  • Kicks to government for implementing a bylaw restricting unsupervised STRs and then doing little to enforce it.
  • Kicks to the Madeira Park property owner for using a sprinkler to water his garden in the heat of the day for over an hour.
  • Autoawesome kisses to the new kid in town, all the Lordco staff. Well done Justin, truly impressive knowledgable team.
  • A truck load of kisses to Scott of All Coast Towing. When my SUV had to be towed from Gibsons to Sechelt, he was very knowledgeable of the local area and its history that was so interesting. The next day he dropped off my keys which I had left in his truck; your kindness is so appreciated.
