Pender Harbour Blues Society and president Marilyn Macleod for the fantastic Dance Party with the fabulous Brickhouse last Saturday – to say the least, a very good time was had by all. This event was a fundraiser for the coming Blues Festival June 7, 8 and 9, so mark your calendars and get ready for three days of unbelievable music. 

After years of planning and long months of renovations, Egmont Thrift Store will be reopening soon at its new location in the Egmont Community Hall’s new basement. The shop previously accessed up two flights of stairs will now have aground level access. If you can volunteer occasionally or have high quality donations, please contact Betty at the post office or Dawn at the Egmonsters group on Facebook. The upstairs room at the Egmont Community Hall now houses exercise equipment and the Book Nook, where you can read and borrow books. 

Harbourside Friendship Thursday welcomes well known poet, artist, musician and more George Connell on March 28. Come and enjoy Music with George. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. Lunch served at noon. Drop in $10. 

Natural Dye Workshop, “Silk” will be held Sunday, March 31 at Sarah Wray Hall with Coast Salish artist Jessica Silvey. Visit [email protected] for details. 

The Pender Harbour Music Society Mid Winter Chamber Music Festival Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31 is proud to present Kai Gleusteen, violin and Catherine Ordronneau, piano. These gifted musicians from Barcelona received lengthy ovations during two previous visits to the Harbour and will be warmly welcomed on their much-anticipated return. Don’t miss out. Pender Harbour Living Heritage Society AGM is Friday, April 12 at 1 p.m. at the Sarah Wray Hall, 4334 Irvines Landing Road. Hear updates on the previous year’s events and activities and a preview of what’s in store for 2019. Volunteer for their Board of Directors. Time to renew your memberships, $10 single and $15 family. April Tools Wooden Boat Challenge is April 27, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Get your team of four together and compete for the prize. (loose leaf teas), Epicure food specialties, Young Living essential oils and natural products, Bayside Bijoux and Painted Rocks.
