Pender Harbour & Egmont

The School of Music’s April Coffeehouse is this Friday, April 10 and will feature an all-Pender Harbour line-up.

Katrina Bishop, popular artist returns, voice and piano, Dawn Loverock, original songs, voice and guitar, Teal Loverock, singer/songwriter and Mark Vance will present some new solo material with special guest Randy Rayment on saxophone.

Doors open at 7, music starts at 7:30 p.m. Admission is by suggested donation of $10 at the door.

Put your best foot forward and take in the magnificent beauty of our Coast Mondays and Wednesdays with the Pender Harbour hiking club. Call 604-883-2930 to join them.

The next meeting of the Pender Harbour garden club is Monday, April 13 at 1 p.m. at the School of Music in Madeira Park.

Linda Fogarty, of Green Room Organics in Gibsons, the organic market garden on Henry Road, will talk about successfully growing, in containers, vegetables and herbs that are particularly suited for our coastal climate.

The next Women’s Connection Gathering is Tuesday, April 14 at 10 a.m. at the new Sarah Wray Hall.

Tour the renovated historic building, view heritage displays and enjoy refreshments and a local history presentation courtesy of the Living Heritage Society.

Harbourside Friendship at the Community Hall on April 16 will feature its popular Movie of the Month. Lunch follows for a mere $10 fee. For more information call Cathy at 604-885-1365. 

An income tax preparation program has started for eligible people in Madeira Park, Garden Bay and beyond hosted by Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church. The free clinics are being held at the Community School on Wednesdays and Mondays at the church office. Call 604-865-0336 to make an appointment.
