Ferrari impounded for excessive speed on Malahat

B.C. Highway Patrol impounded a newer-model Ferrari after its driver was caught on radar going 137 kilometres per hour in an 80 km/h zone on the Malahat.

The driver hit the RCMP speed trap at Aspen Road on May 21.

The driver, an Alberta woman in her 20s, was issued a violation ticket under the B.C. Motor Vehicle Act for excessive speeding.

The owner, an Alberta man in his 30s, arrived at the scene shortly after to collect the driver as well as the paperwork indicating that his vehicle had been impounded for seven days.
