The Eastbourne water system on the east side of Keats Island is no longer on water restrictions.

As rains once again descend on the Coast, the last of the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) water conservation regulations have been lifted

While most SCRD systems saw their water restrictions lift at the beginning of October, South Pender Harbour was only "cautiously" moved to Stage 1 from Stage 3 on Oct. 11, as water sources McNeill and Harris Lakes saw less rainfall and slower recovery earlier this fall.

McNeill Lake and the Eastbourne Water System's aquifer have recovered and recharged, said an Oct. 24 press release. The Eastbourne system supplies the east side of Keats Island.

"Residents are asked to please inform neighbours and friends who do not access information online about the changes," said the release.
