Runners weren’t deterred by a bit of snow at the first event of the Sunshine Coast Trail Series on Feb. 24.

Sixteen brave souls toed the start line at the first race in the Sunshine Coast Trail Series, Saturday Feb. 24, despite the heavy snowfall the Friday before race day.

The keen runners were ready to take on the trails for Swamp Thing, which took place on a course around Middle Point Road in Pender Harbour.

The race took the runners on an adventure in the snow with a few obstacles on the way due to fallen trees because of the heavy snowfall. Everyone did a great job fighting through snow, ice and a bit of water.

1. Will Rice - 29.58

2. Richard Seymour - 35.34

3. Anna Verspoor - 41.47
