The 25th anniversary of the Gibsons Pigs rugby club’s 1994 championship season will be celebrated at a party in August.

Longtime club member John Rainer has issued an invitation to players, including starters and subs, and fans who were part of the glory year, when the Pigs brought home trophies from the Vancouver, Lower Mainland and Provincial championships.

“Here’s to you, you’re true blue. You’re a Pig through and through! Oink! Oink!” Rainer said in his call-out to club members.

The get-together will be Aug. 10 at Rainer’s house in Roberts Creek. He is asking those wishing to attend to send their text info and help track down a few missing members. His phone number is 604-740-7163.

The day will begin at 11 a.m. with a ball throw-around, and the party starting at 3 p.m. It will be potluck and BYOB but there will be a pig on a spit and starter refreshments.
