The Sunshine Coast Volleyball Club’s (SCVC) U17 team finished their successful season with a great performance at the BC Club Provincials on the weekend at the Richmond Olympic Oval.

The team had a fantastic first day, winning three close and exciting matches in pool play against Elevate from Chilliwack, Jr. Heat from Kelowna and BCO from North Vancouver to capture first place in the pool.

The playoffs started later that afternoon, with the team easily defeating SKY from Vernon to set up a quarterfinal the following morning against a very good Thunder team from Vancouver. Thunder played very well, defeating SCVC in two sets.

The team then played APEX from Vancouver and gutted out another three set win, setting up another matchup in the fifth place game against Jr. Heat. Both teams battled hard, and the match went to three sets, with Jr. Heat narrowly beating SCVC 15-13.

The team went 5-2 for the weekend, good for sixth place in B.C. – a major accomplishment for this team and club.
