Gibsons’ Richard ‘Buzz’ Bennett (right) was inducted into the International Skydiving Museum’s Hall of Fame on Sept. 23.

Longtime friend Dick Williams of Florida presented the award at Chicagoland Skydiving Center in Rochelle, Illinois, making Bennett the 48th inductee since the Hall of Fame was established in 2010.

Bennett is described as one of Canada’s foremost sport parachuting personalities, with more than 6,300 jumps since making his first in 1966.

The Hall of Fame “recognizes and honours those who, through leadership, innovation and/or outstanding achievements, have defined, promoted, inspired and advanced skydiving at the highest and sustained levels in the past, present and for future generations of skydivers.”
