The 42nd annual BMO Sunshine Coast April Fool’s Run presented by Eastlink is fast approaching. Race day is Sunday, April 7 and online registration closes at midnight April 3. Walk-up registration is available April 6-7; late fees apply.

On race day, approximately 600 runners and walkers will make their way from the Gibsons & Area Community Centre to Mission Point Park. The main start is 9:17 a.m., with an early start for walkers at 8:17 a.m. Eastlink will provide coverage of the Fool’s Run in a 30-minute show to be broadcast in April.
Post-race celebrations include custom finisher medals, locally made hot soup, snacks, coffee, professional race announcer, costume contest, and a DJ rocking the tunes.
Besides the half marathon (21.1k) distance, there are two- and four-person relay options, where each runner completes an approximately 5k to 10k section before handing off to a teammate. Perfect for beginning or younger runners. Parents can enter their age seven and under kids in the Home Healthcare Network Kids’ Jester Dash presented by Pastimes. It’s free but registration is required, and the event is limited to 50 children. Spots are going fast.
Non-runners can be part of the fun by joining local BMO staff on the volunteer crew. Perks include free T-shirt, refreshments, and invite to the Volunteer Training Party at The 101 Brewhouse.
