Sophie Woodrooffe Photos - Oct. 31, 2018 A coven of 13 Coast witches danced across Sechelt on Halloween. “It started off to be a flash mob but then we realized in Sechelt if we didn’t let people know, there wouldn’t be many people watching,” said Kathy Hobbs. The mob danced at a handful of storefronts such as Claytons Heritage Market in Trail Bay Centre, the Bank of Montreal and The Daily Roast. They hope to make it an annual event. “We’ve got a lot of good responses from the traffic and passersby,” said witch Anne Slater. The event was inspired by a “witches dance” trend with origins in Europe. “It’s worldwide, we’re bringing it to the Sunshine Coast now,” said Slater before the giggling gaggle flew to the Lighthouse Pub to celebrate with some witches brew.
