Why not take control?

Editor: It has come to my attention that we no longer live in the 13th century, that we actually have the technology today to represent ourselves.

Editor: It has come to my attention that we no longer live in the 13th century, that we actually have the technology today to represent ourselves. Rather than vote for an individual to "represent" us, why not vote, each of us, on the issues raised in parliament? We have computers. We have access to all kinds of information. Why not take control? Why do we feel we need "representatives" to govern us? Choosing between First Across the Finish Line and BC STV,seemed reallyabout how tight we want the handcuffs, notwhether we want them at all.
