Who likes Daylight Savings Time?

LETTERS

Editor:

Whose stupid idea was this anyway? I’d be interested to know what studies show about its adverse effects.

How does it affect productivity in the workplace? What about patients in hospitals and care facilities who have to have certain medications at specific times?

Are there more accidents, traffic and otherwise, in the two or three days right after the change?

How does it affect sales? The stock market? This is where it would concern politicians who have the power to get rid of Daylight Savings Time — never mind people (or animals) — it’s money that matters.

I’m glad I’m not a dairy farmer who has to milk the cows at a definite hour at the crack of dawn. Daylight Savings Time must throw the cows and the farmer for a loop. I know I’m thrown off-kilter for a few days every time it happens. I’m cranky, can’t think straight, and I’m tired (and my dog is confused).

I, for one, wouldn’t want to have open-heart surgery first thing on a Monday morning after the clocks were changed on the Sunday.

Why can’t we vote on this? Who likes Daylight Savings Time?
