Gibsons’ future will soon meet its new administrators.

This is a very critical time for our lovely little town. Those who will be voting and whose futures, taxes and quality of life will be affected by the outcome need to think deeply about whether the outcry over the George and the official community plan are truly the primary concerns.

We seriously need to consider the fiscal health and overall future of our Town. We have the opportunity to elect a younger, educated and qualified council who have stepped up to run. Let them sort out the height of the George. Future development is crucial and that will mean an ever-changing OCP moving forward. This is a “living” document and should not become our obituary written in stone.

Cries of outrage and disrespectful discourse have become the norm for some, many of whom are not even voters. The community has been stirred into a web of conspiracy and hateful propaganda.

Are these insolent voices coming from the kind of people we want to orchestrate our town and lives?

I, for one, am tired of the bullying and bantering. I have already voted. I hope you will, too.
