Sechelt Mayor and Council:
I learned recently of the exemplary position taken by the mayor of the Town of Port Alberni in his announcement that the Town was welcoming refugees from Syria. I want to request that a proposal to welcome Syrian refugees into our community would also be considered by my municipal council in line with our Canadian values and in accordance with our screening procedures for the good health and security of all.
