May I gently remind Simon Broomhill (“Zero credibility,” Letters, Sept. 25) that the people he denigrates as an “anti-George mob” are his fellow townspeople who have as much right to an opinion as he does. Most have based their opinion on facts and expert advice, not undignified fear-mongering, snide disparagement, and intransigent refusal to listen to opinions other than their own. They hold their opinion with as much fervour as you do, though not, I trust, with the same virulence.
