Vaccination like clockwork

There were some early frustrations expressed in this newspaper about the booking process for COVID vaccinations. I have no doubt that the early frustrations were justified, but I think that now that things are rolling it’s worth a counterpoint comment.

After bookings were made available to my age group on March 20, I waited a couple of days and on March 22 I called for an appointment. I got through to an agent immediately with no delay. She efficiently and politely booked me for a vaccination on March 31 in Sechelt.
On March 31 I turned up at the seniors’ centre slightly early, got in line outside but had almost no wait, quickly moved through the check-in stations, and had my vaccination in short order. The 15-minute safety wait afterwards was longer than the time from the parking lot to vaccination. Every person I dealt with was courteous and efficient.

I congratulate our local organizers and staff for setting up and operating a smoothly working process to do a mass vaccination such as we’ve never had to do before in my lifetime.
