With respect to Colin McLean’s response (Coast Reporter letters, Jan. 23) to Michael Maser’s letter, (Coast Reporter, Jan. 16) it’s common knowledge that Prime Minister Stephen Harper has consistently pursued a policy of trumping science with ideology, so why Mr. McLean would try to pretend otherwise is somewhat puzzling.
And in view of his comments regarding global warming and economics, it appears he may be a bit overdue for a reality check. One good place to start would be the interview with Naomi Klein on the subject of her new book (www.democracynow.org/blog/2014/9/17/thursday_naomi_klein_on_her_new_book). Mr. McLean also failed to clarify his attempted association of ISIS with climate change, or perhaps that was simply an unrelated effort to denigrate Michael Maser.
