Just brought my travel trailer home for the winter and experienced BC Ferries’ electronic vehicle measuring system. Having previously measured the overall length of my truck and trailer, I knew it was 43 feet. I was informed that my length was 45 feet. At $6.90 per foot, that is an extra $13.80. The attendant came out with the wheeled measuring tape and informed me that my length was in fact 43 feet overall. I wonder how many people are being overcharged by one or two feet, possibly more, the longer the length of the trailer. I certainly hope it was just a calibration error and that it has been corrected.

I would suggest everyone measure and know your overall length.
