Being carried out of the bush by firemen (and paramedics) is every women's dream. I was told they were six burly men. I couldn't disagree, as I couldn't see them. I had face-planted a stump while biking along the beautiful Sunshine Coast trail recently. I ended up with a stick around my eye under the lid. With an eye injury, you have to cover both eyes and not move too much.

So on this beautiful Saturday afternoon the paramedics hiked into the biking trail to access me. The firemen were then called for back up, as they had to help carry me out. The hike out was not the easiest for the guys as they had to negotiate bridges, stunts, single track, trees, and creeks - just general exciting stuff for a biker (on a bike). These guys were amazing, always upbeat, and even had a few jokes. They even apparently saw a unicorn and a Sasquatch on the way out!

Thank you so much to everyone who helped me including the ambulance, police and helicopter crew. Sorry I cannot remember names. I fully appreciate all your effort, and my eyesight is back to normal.
