The government advertisement about the teacher's demands versus "the facts" amused and amazed me. Someone's telling fibs on the grand scale, and where I come from, a grand-scale fib is a big fat lie, of which the perpetrators should be ashamed.

Unlimited classroom sizes, one-mistake firings, refusal to negotiate - true or false? One side contradicts the other. I'm sure the truthful side will be quick to produce proof of its veracity. Not.

And no doubt the school children will be thoughtfully witnessing these shenanigans and drawing interesting conclusions. Perhaps they can discuss them in get-togethers during professional development days, when, being unattended by their teachers on what should be a normal school day, they are not taught anything - to everyone's inconvenience, except, obviously, the teachers.
