Over the past couple weeks I’ve noticed children playing in sprinklers, playing with water coming out of the hose, even one child just standing watching water come out a hose. All I think is how these children won’t have such joy with water when they get to my age.
My husband and I chose not to have any children, and we save as much water as we can. We only water when we can, do dishes once a day, and save laundry to once a week. I do know it is not easy when you have children, but you can try! We have lakes to take kids to, we have a whole ocean all along our Coast to enjoy. Why is it so hard to take your children there instead of wasting water at home? Get a blow-up pool if you need to stay at home, and let them know how that is the only water they have for the summer.
I just ask parents to remember how important water is, and if they want their grandchildren to have it, they really need to think twice before handing the hose to their child.
