Ride your bike and save your money

Editor: In response to Alan Sirulnikoff's letter (Coast Reporter, May 18), I couldn't agree more. It probably doesn't matter whether Sunshine Coasters are being "ripped off," or whether the price of gas really is correctly charged.

In response to Alan Sirulnikoff's letter (Coast Reporter, May 18), I couldn't agree more. It probably doesn't matter whether Sunshine Coasters are being "ripped off," or whether the price of gas really is correctly charged. Truth is, as oil gets harder and harder to recover from our planet, the cost will increase.

So, as Alan quotes, use this an opportunity to look at the ways of travelling by alternative means. Walk, ride a bike, catch a bus, buy a moped, even share a car if you have to, but avoid using the car alone, and avoid using it for just one chore.

Now is a great time to start that change. The summer is close, and this week is Bike to Work Week. What better way to save on your gas bill?
