One of the worst things in the world is when people make bad choices. Unfortunately Halfmoon Bay Elementary School now has a big example of someone’s bad choice all over its school field.
Recently, some reckless young people came to our school in a pick-up and did doughnuts on our backfield. It makes [us] feel violated. We can’t believe how careless those people were being. Their fun, which lasted a few minutes, is going to cost us a lot of time and money. The childish actions of these people destroyed the work that so many people spent two years building.
Where there had been a nice safe field, there are now gashes and strewn clods of grass. This means the students will now have a smaller area for recess and P.E. while the damage is repaired. What these people did was not OK, it was disrespectful and disappointing. Hopefully at least one of these people can be honest enough to step forward and take responsibility for their actions.
