As a review of Sechelt (formerly St. Mary’s) Hospital history will show, at the time when the doctors of the Coast needed a health care facility, the doctors approached my father to assist them.
My father, Harvey Hubbs, was joined by Lori Dixon’s father, who was the chief of the Sechelt Nation at the time, if my memory serves me correctly. They represented two nations that came together for the benefit of all.
It would be wonderful if such could be so again, instead of what is currently happening in Pender Harbour. The residents of that community have the right to be heard and respected by all.
