I was initially against the SCRD taking out a loan and installing water meters, but now that I’ve done a little research, I’m fully on board with them. It doesn’t make sense to add more water supply without first fixing the leaks. Leaks don’t fix themselves; any existing leaks are only going to get worse. We could be losing thousands of gallons of water every day that we put off water meter installations – it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand this. Meter installations will help identify existing and future water leaks. Install the meters, repair the leaks, and then add more water to our system.
